Leopard nails

In my previous post I mentioned I was sporting a leopard mani. I was going to take pictures and post later that night, but the weather has been dreadful ever since :-( Only dark clouds.

Okay, so this is probably not the best leopard mani you have ever seen. However, I just loved the colour combo <3 Definitely worth remembering =)

One thing I like about this picture is that it shows the awesomeness of Essences Gel Look topcoat. Look at that pinky! Look at that index finger!

I used: Rimmel Grey Matter, OPI Riotously Pink, Essie Licorice, Essence Gel Look topcoat

Mandar-eenie so Teeny

Yes, I AM BACK! And so happy =) Time for a new mani!

Major clean-up was needed...

If you're thinking 'Goodness, this looks like a three-year-old did it', well, you are correct =)

We went to Disney last week (<3) and I suffered some serious breakage =( So during the ride home I peeled off my Pooh mani (peel-off basecoat ROCKS) and decided to cut my nails and give them a day to breathe. However, the next day my mum asked me to paint her nails and my nephew saw. So he wanted to do my nails! I couldn't be more proud of him, as he decided to use two colours, not one. He must have been paying attention to my mani's! <3

Right now I'm sporting a leopard mani, will take picture tonight with my Queen B and post =)

He used: Essie Bikini so Teeny, Essence ³ dancing in the streets

GA Suze: Summer in my Backyard

Another mani by Suze. She is spending summer in her garden, swimming with my b-i-l and nephew. Inspired by the lovely colours and the sunshine, she made this bright mani.

No, the beads were not coloured with the polish ;-)
I used these colours

Ocean Scene by Chalkboard Nails

Yup, another mani by someone else. However, it's looking like I might be back to posting my own manis next week, yay!

Chalkboard Nails is a website I love to check every now and then. Sarah posts nail art and tutorials as well as swatches. She updates daily, wow!

When I saw this ocean scene nail art, I was simply blown away. Blown. Away.

You can find it here. More Chalkboard Nails awesomeness on her website and tumblr.

Temporary Hiatus

No, unfortunately that is not the name of a new mani =(

I currently don't have any picture-taking equipment. I lost the charger for my camera and my mobile (which I use to take the majority of pictures on this blog) has been picked up for repairs. I have no idea how long this is going to take, I hope not too long! I am doing manis as usual and shopping for supplies (plus my sister gave me like ten polishes out of her stash last weekend!) so hopefully I will be able to show you some great things once the hiatus is over.

In the meantime, I will post some of my favourite manis from other blogs and tumblrs. Enjoy!

I love this mani by Pack a Punch Polish. If only because it would look awesome with my favourite Ikea lamp!
Other than that, I like how it looks clean and calm. I mean, there's so much going on on each nail but it's not in your face, it's balanced. I have finally found a good white polish so I want to try this one soon as well. Am seriously dreading the right hand though.

More from Pack a Punch on Tumblr and Blogger. Go check it out!

3D nails, yay!

Black white nail art
Black, white, rhinestones <3

This weekend I found some sticky rhinestones in the crafts store, so I decided to try them out! This is my first ever attempt at 3D nails and I am amazed at the lasting quality.

I didn't clean up, because we had friends coming over for diner and would go play racquetball the next day, so I took the pics as soon as possible because I feared the mani might not last all that long. However, three days later, the rhinestones are still firmly in place! I have only changed the other nails =).

Also, I made my first franken! It's the holo glitter on my middle finger. It's quite awesome and I will show better pics in the next few days. As soon as there's some sun...

This was the last mani using my drug store brand black, as is had suddenly gone bad =( I bought Essie Licorice as a replacement and so far so good.

I just stuck the rhinestones in the wet polish, no topcoat. Showering, playing racquetball, cooking, sleeping, have not effected them at all. Actually I'm thinking of adding some more at the sides!

I used: drug store brand black, Essie Blanc, my first franken (yay!)

Guest Post: Lovely Lilac

GA Suze: I love purple, it's that simple!

Luckily purple comes in many shades and mixes! Inspired by a lovely bush in the garden, I bought Essence Colour³ of "midnight date" with "city that never sleeps". Colour³ is a combination of two polishes, that can be used either seperately or combined (this being the third option, and explains the ³ in the name).

I first tried two layers of midnight date and two layers of city that never sleeps. I was rather disappointed with the lack of shimmering in the dark blue and the lack of green sparkles in the purple top layers.
Sorry, no cuticle clean-up =(

Noooo, don 't crush the flower!
So off it went!

I pulled out my Etos Silver special effects nail polish, two layers as a base coat for the shimmer as the city that never sleeps is a transparent purple colour. Straight away I noticed I would need two layers to get a deeper purple. And although the green sparkles are still hardly visible, I love the glimmer effect and the shining purple! Look at how perfectly purple it turned out! Exactly like my lovely purple flowered bush! In real-life there is no VNL, that's -luckily- just an illusion in the picture :-)

I used: Etos Silver special effects, Essence Colour³ City that never sleeps

Comments by Fabby: I personally quite like the first mani. And looking at the bottle, there seem to be plenty of green glitters... I will have to steal this polish and see if I can get other results!
