Minty Fresh Neon Cat

Pretties,

with this mani I tried to scare away winter so it would finally be spring here. No luck so far.

The ingredients for a happy 'buh-bye winter, hello spring!' mani can obviously only be minty green, neon pink, studs and cats. Right? So here it is, my Mint Fresh Neon Cat:

My hands are so dry in this pic =(

The triangle I made with stencils from the Bourjois/Pshiiit set.
The studs are red studs by Kiss that I wrote about here. I just painted them with the pink polish before sticking them on my nails =D

By the way I am loving these pastel skittles that keep popping up in my blog list! For example this one by Captivating Claws. It's a guest post at ChrissyAi. I think I'll probably do something similar for Easter =)

I used: Bell Air Flow 712, Urban Decay Woodstock, cat sticker and stencils from Bourjois Pshiit nail art kit, studs by Kiss (painted pink, originally red)

Valentine Nail Art Challenge Day 1: Red or Pink

Whoop whoop, it's challenge time again!

This time I've joined the Valentine Nail Art Challenge hosted by the lovely Dahlia over at datyorkLOVES. There are ten prompts to complete before February 14th, so there is nothing lazy about this challenge! It still gives me some space to skip a day wihtout falling behind schedule, so I think I should be able to handle it. Can't wait to see all the entries in this challenge!

Day 1 meant pink or red. I gave you a sneak peek by posting Woodstock last Friday. Here is the finished mani! I was going for cutesie, but I think it looks more like I wanted to do something but couldn't quite do it. But My Geek thought it looked really cool, so maybe I'm just being a bit hard on myself =)

I used: Urban Decay Woodstock, Etos black striper

Be sure to check back tomorrow for Day 2: Hearts <3
And don't forget to check out the other entries for Day 1:

Urban Decay Woodstock

Ladies and gentlemen; meet Urban Decay Woodstock.

Woodstock, you hurt my eyes with your prettiness <3

I can not believe I have had this polish for just under three years and never, ever worn it before. I was shocked at how neon it was! I just had to show it to you.

You may or may not remember me using the OPI neon mini's for my neon water marble and the cracked neon skittle. If you're not familiar with those, you apply a white base, then two coats of the neon polish and then a top coat.

I was going to do a pink water marble for the first prompt of the new Valentine Nail Art Challenge hosted by datyorkLOVES (more about that later today =D) and decided to use this as a base. I was just blown away by it! You guys, this is one coat. One coat. No white base, no top coat.

Woodstock was part of Urban Decay Summer of Love mini kit which was released in Spring 2010. I'm real bummed now that it's a mini as I can see myself wearing this all the time come summer =D

Have you ever been real surprised by an untried? Have you ever had an untried this long?

Be sure to check back later for the Valentine Challenge =)

Galaxy nails

Like most people, I too was inspired to try Galaxy nails. My Geek and I love Star Trek so I thought he would appreciate it too! I used the tutorial from Nail Art 101 and it was so easy!

I used these colours and props...
Oh boy!

And this was the result. I was quite pleased actually.
Worth it? Yes!

I have since made them for my sister as well, using the same colours and technique. Cool how they still turn out different from mine! I also think it's cool to see how much difference nail length can make. She went to a festival 20 minutes after I finished her nails, and only her pinky suffered :-)

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to fetch myself a cup of tea, Earl Grey, hot... ;-)

ETA: Some tutorials tell you not to use too much white, but I think it makes it look like nebulas which I think is awesome! However, you might want to try it using less white, should this mani be too bright for you.

I used: Rimmel Blue Vogue, Essence Special Effect Copper'ize me, Essence Stampy Polish, Essence Check me Out, Essence Twins Thelma & Louise, Urban Decay Aquarius, drugstore brand black, Essence gel look topcoat (two layers for me, one for my sister).
